For storing smaller items that need to be packed together or items that can be stacked 3m x 3m square in size, Drive-In Rack is the perfect solution. Use of Drive-in and drive-thru racks
Drive In Racking is used to store seasonal items like Christmas decorations; there is no specified storage order, and things are quickly emptied as Christmas approaches. However, this pallet system is not helpful in all cases as the functioning method is last-in-first-out. Hence, you cannot access the entire palette at once. However, if the order of pallet removal is not essential, drive in racking system offers the best storage solution. A standard storage method used is aisle adjustable. A plan is a storage unit that fits neatly into your space. Adjustable aisles allow you to select the pallets you need using standard operating machinery, thus reducing overall costs.
Drive-in and Drive-Thru Rack (sometimes spelled drive-thru) are storage rack configurations that allow forklifts to be carried in vertical rows of straight lanes (called bays). The difference between drive-in and drive-thru pallet rack systems is whether the bay has entrances at one end or both. Drive-in rack systems use a common entrance and exit, while drive-thru systems have entry points at each end of the bay. Since drive-in rack systems have only one door, they use a storage method called "last in, first out" (LIFO). Since there is only one entrance, the pallets in the last queue are always selected first. Drive thru racking two separate entry points may also use a "first in, first out" (FIFO) storage scheme. In a FIFO system, pallets are loaded at one end, pushed back at the other, and placed at the beginning of the opposite row. The first pallet placed in such a row is the first pallet removed at the other end. This system is beneficial for materials with an expiration date or where shelf life is a significant concern.
Use of Pallet Flow Rack
The primary purpose of the Pallet Flow Rack is to provide high throughput pallet storage and retrieval and excellent space utilization. Therefore, it is used for items with high pallet inventory turnover and multiple pallets on hand. Pallet flow racks work by moving the load from one side to the other on a simple conveyor to move the pallets using FIFOs. When the pallet is moved, the pallet is carried along with the position of the next pallet. This method is suitable for warehouse shelves with high product turnover, but this option is costly.
You can use DISTRIBUTION X pallets in busy industries and warehouses. In the process of Pallet Flow Racking, the storage process is automated. This means that the load is stored at the top of the pallet rack and removed accordingly at the bottom. With Pallet Flow Racking, the whole process is automated, and a lot of time is saved by implementing the First in, First Out system. Automate the rotation process of rotational rotation introduced in large-scale factories and warehouses.
